Sanjeev Punj
Sanjeev studied Law at Sheffield Hallam University before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law (now The University of Law) in Birmingham. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2012, he worked for the Insolvency Service (as a Senior Examiner in the Department of Director Disqualifications), and Shakespeare Putsman (now Shakespeare Martineau), Birmingham. He trained at Lamb Brooks LLP in Basingstoke, where he worked in the commercial, insolvency and litigation teams for the majority of the three years he was there. After qualifying, Sanjeev worked for firms in Leicester and Birmingham. Initially employed as a newly qualified litigation solicitor, after a short period of time he was given the responsibility of supervising junior staff. He became a director of a firm for a short while before eventually leaving to set up SP Legal Solutions in January 2016.
He has both a local and national practice as a litigator, and has acted on behalf of a wide range of commercial clients. Sanjeev has considerable experience of dealing with breaches of contract between businesses as well as individuals. His experience extends to both personal and corporate insolvency where he acts for directors, trustees in bankruptcy as well as liquidators.
Sanjeev’s experience of litigation and insolvency has given him a good understanding of how businesses function at all levels and how disputes can be managed to the practical and commercial advantage of every client - no matter the size of the business or the scale of the problem.
In addition to his experience of litigation and insolvency, Sanjeev often finds himself drafting a number of different commercial agreements designed to protect businesses. As well as advising businesses of all shapes, sizes and needs, Sanjeev also draws on his experience of being a business owner. As a result, he understands the pressures that business owners often have to deal with on a day-to-day basis and factors that into his advice.
Outside of the office, Sanjeev enjoys reading and introspection.
